Anyone that pays even the mildest attention to hip-hop along the Front Range knows most shows are relegated to small and mid-size venues like the Ogden Theatre, Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom or Boulder’s Fox Theatre.

That’s what made Sunday night’s concert such a thrilling anomaly: the star-studded lineup of Kanye West, Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco actually filled the gargantuan Pepsi Center, a feat few acts outside of Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige (whose tour will skip Denver this year) can accomplish.

The unique electricity of a hip-hop show also buzzes extra loud at an arena, the crowd sweating and pulsating in unison, rivaling even the most frenzied death metal or electro-pop concert. In other words, it’s a big old dance party.

[...] Rihanna’s set injected a sharp sensuality into the proceedings, her singers and dancers clad in pink and green neon-accented street gear, each matching her confident strut to create a vibe like a post-apocalyptic burlesque show. (The blazingly bright “R” in the center of the stage didn’t hurt, either.)

“Umbrella” kicked off with a slow guitar line before revving into the R&B equivalent of a slow-burning rock epic, while “S.O.S.” had impressively precarious dance moves. By the time “Don’t Stop the Music” kicked in, the crowd seemed nearly spent. It didn’t help when awkward choreography — dancers swinging green and blue light-saber-esque props with the grace of toddlers — detracted from the sonics. [...]

These days it’s hard to keep track of R&B sensation Rihanna. She was spotted on her way to Las Vegas via the LAX airport this past Thursday and she was looking fine.

The “Umbrella” songstress sported a black screenprinted t-shirt, black trousers, and a pink leopard-print bandana as she made her way through the terminal.

Rihanna was in Vegas for the Glow in the Dark Tour (Kanye West’s latest venture) that rocked the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa last night. Tonight, they hit the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

And it sounds like the “Good Girl Gone Bad” has made some friend in the Pop/Rock world. Reportedly she joined Maroon 5 in the studio to do a new version of their song “If I Never See Your Face Again,” and it turned out so well that they shot a video.

She told press, “I don’t do a lot of videos where I have so much chemistry with the other artist.” Sounds like a winner.

Rihanna and some friends enjoyed some fast food at Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant inside Beverly Shopping Center yesterday in Los Angeles, California. Rihanna was wearing a pink polka dot bandanna and a Marilyn Monroe t-shirt under a leather jacket with a large gold-chained black Chanel purse. Rihanna wore a similar necklace with vampire fangs. She carried her drink in one hand and her Dior bag with purchases in the other.

Another day, another big-name artist gearing up to promote an album re-release with a big, shiny music video. Only this time it's different: It's two big-name artists. At the same time.

On Wednesday, Maroon 5 and Rihanna joined forces on a Los Angeles soundstage to film a video for a remake of "If I Never See Your Face Again" — originally the lead track on M5's 2007 effort, It Won't Be Soon Before Long — which will appear on reissues of both artists' albums.

"We're both re-releasing our albums — mine's out June 17," Rihanna told MTV News. "This is the only collaboration on my re-release, because I always wanted to work with Maroon 5. They're one of my favorite bands. When they called me to do this record with them, I was so honored."

"The song was basically done, but we wanted to try something different, so we had her come in and do bits and pieces," Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine added. "It came together so quick. The only other collaboration I had done before was with Kanye, and it was the same way. It sounds cheesy, but if the magic is there, if the chemistry is there, you don't even have to think about it."

A spokesperson for Rihanna's label, Island Def Jam, confirmed that the reissue of her Good Girl Gone Bad album will hit stores June 17. A rep for Maroon 5's label, A&M, couldn't be reached by press time.

So what about that video? Well, it's directed by Anthony Mandler, who has helmed clips for everyone from Snoop Dogg to the Spice Girls, and from what we could gather — and from what Rih Rih and Levine were wearing when we caught up with them on the set — the whole thing is a fairly glam affair.

"It's this kind of ultra-glamorous, photography-based, late-'70s/ early-'80s situation. It's really stylish and really beautiful," Levine said. "It's the most choreographed thing I've ever done, because usually I just get up there and screw around. But with Rihanna, it's completely different and so cool."

"I don't do a lot of videos where I have so much chemistry with the other artist, and this is only my second duet in a video," Rihanna added. "It's really intense, because you have to work with each other so much. It's new for me, but I'm enjoying it."

While the dynamic duo look forward to working together again in the future, Levine seems like he'd like the collaboration to be somewhat different — like, perhaps, a "Project Runway"-style partnership.

"I've been doing her styling lately, especially for this video," he laughed. "That's my other passion: styling."

Let’s unpack the above headline.

First off, Adam Levine was vying for the attention of Rihanna because, well, they were shooting a video for her collabo with Maroon 5, a track called “If I Never See Your Face Again.” Also, he most likely enjoyed having the girl around because she’s adorable (though perhaps less so in that catering outfit).

What Chris Brown was up to we can only glean from the totally presumptuous reportage of a certain Yasmine Richard, one of MTV News’ busiest on-set producers — because she was there. (Seriously, the woman’s been on video sets all week…)

Remember the nosey, know-it-all neighbor Bonita Butrell from “In Living Color”? Her catchphrase was “But you ain’t heard that from me!”

Wellllll, yesterday, on the set of Maroon 5 and Rihanna’s video, a certain fresh-faced, six-foot-plus, tattooed R&B singer that I just talked to the day before at David Banner’s video set, was on the set. That’s right, C-Breezy was in the building! (Cue Bonita Butrell.)

Now I ain’t one to put someone’s business out there, but all I’m gonna say is I got friends and I got a best friend, but not one of them will come out to visit my behind in the middle of nowhere (read: Castaic, Cali). Only MY MAN (that’s only if I didn’t get on his nerves that day) would come kick it with me.

Just friggin’ admit that y’all are boo’ed up!!! I’m tired of this! Chris, make her an honest woman! Declare your looooove for Cinder-ella ella ella to the world!

For Him Magazine (FHM) has bestowed its annual "sexiest woman in the world" title on Megan Fox, the sultry blue-eyed American actress and model best known for her roles on the television series ‘Hope & Faith’ and breakout role in the 2007 film ‘Transformers’.

FHMOnline.com recently unveiled the results of its annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll of FHM readers, and the 21-year-old model-actress has landed at the top of the sexy list.

She beat out the stunning beauties, like Angelina Jolie (No. 12), Rihanna (No. 14), Kim Kardashian (No. 17), Paris Hilton (No. 77) and last year's no.1 sexy woman, Jessica Alba (No. 3) to reach at the top.
